The ministry of education and sports has confirmed that the primary leaving examination (PLE) results will be out on Friday this week.

The minister of state for primary Education, Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu says that the 2022 PLE results will be out on Friday, January 27,2023.

PLE was conducted on November 8th-9th 2022, with a total of 832,810 candidates registered from 14, 153 examination centers. 51.9% of the total registered candidates where females and 48.1% were males. 583,769 were funded under the Universal Primary Education program (UPE) and 249,041 were non UPE candidates.
Moriku says UNEB officials will on Wednesday visit the Education minister Janet Kataha Museveni to discuss the results ahead of the official release on Friday January 27, 2023.

“The first lady will receive the results on Wednesday and the top ministry officials will seat to discuss, and the public will get to know on Friday,” Moriku said

Last week, Daniel Odongo, the executive director of the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) stated that the examination body concluded marking exams before Christmas day in December 2022.

He explained to legislators at the parliamentary Education Committee, that the release was delayed because officials at the Ministry of Education were unavailable. Marking took place at 13 centers involving 5544 examiners.

He had announced the release of the results that same week, however, that didn’t happen.

During plenary on Tuesday, Hamson Obua the State Minister for Education and Sports stated that the date for the release of the results has not been set

“I consulted with the secretary for UNEB and was told that the date and day for the release of PLE results has not been set yet. UNEB is set to internally brief the mainstream ministry of Education tomorrow and its in that meeting where the day for release will be set. But I was informed it will be before the end of this week,” he explained
