The deceased are Jalia Nansamba 39 and her three-year-old daughter, Sharifa Nango. It is alleged that on April 22, 2023, the family of four all experienced general body weakness and peptic headaches after having supper.

It is alleged that Nansamba who prepared the meal went to bed earlier than the rest with her deceased daughter. The two surviving daughters stayed up a little longer but ignored the symptoms they were suffering from, promising to visit a health facility if the signs persisted by morning.

However, the next morning when Nansamba and daughter were found diffusing white fluids from their mouths. Two surviving daughters were rushed to Kamuli Mission Hospital for treatment.
