The anti-corruption hammer has struck again this time, deep in Kyankwanzi District where three suspects have been dragged to court for allegedly turning the Parish Development Model (PDM) fund into a personal cash cow.

This follows a directive from President Museveni during his recent Greater Mubende Wealth Creation Tour in Kyankwanzi, where he tasked locals and concerned authorities to net people misusing or stealing PDM funds.

Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke and his team at the State House Anti-Corruption Unit swooped into action, teaming up with detectives from Criminal Investigations Directorate(CID) and prosecutors from the DPP.

The trio including Mutyaba Henry, a Community Development Officer; Ntemu John, Chairperson of Kasoolo Nkawandwa PDM SACCO; and Kizito Moses, the SACCO’s Secretary was yesterday paraded before the Kyankwanzi Chief Magistrate’s Court.

According to investigators, Mutyaba and his yet-to-be-nabbed accomplices reportedly used threats and force to extort money from desperate beneficiaries in Kyankwanzi Parish. They allegedly promised to “fix” the victims into the PDM system for a fee.

As for Ntemu and Kizito, the two are accused of conning millions out of unsuspecting SACCO members under the guise of “helping them access government funds.”

Mutyaba has since been remanded until May 21, 2025, as the hunt for more suspects intensifies.
