Rising Ugandan star Kapeke has finally addressed ongoing comparisons with renowned rapper Fik Fameica, firmly stating that he is not on the same level as the established artist.

In an interview with Galaxy TV’s Rewind team, Kapeke responded to critics and fans who have continuously drawn parallels between the two artists. Rather than fueling the comparisons, he took a respectful approach, acknowledging Fik Fameica’s immense talent and accomplishments.

“I’m not on Fik Fameica’s level. He has a lot of great music, and I’m also in my own lane. They shouldn’t try comparing me with him or even make me walk in his footsteps. That guy has achieved so much,” Kapeke said.

Currently one of the most trending artists in the country, Kapeke has quickly made his mark with several hit songs that have dominated charts and countdowns. His music resonates strongly with the youth — the same demographic that Fik Fameica initially captured when he burst onto the scene with his unique blend of sound and infectious dance moves.

As Fik Fameica’s career evolved, he adopted a more mature and polished style, gradually expanding his appeal to an older audience. This natural transition left a space in the high-energy, youthful music scene — a gap that Kapeke has seamlessly filled with viral tracks like “Swilili” and “Kaba”.

Despite the frequent comparisons, Kapeke holds Fik Fameica in high regard, not only as a musical peer but also as a friend and inspiration. The two artists previously collaborated on the hit song “Shuu”, which further cemented their creative synergy.

Kapeke’s humility and clear vision for his own path in the industry have earned him respect, both from fans and fellow artists. While the comparisons may persist, Kapeke remains focused on building his unique legacy.
