In what can only be described as the wedding of the year, Lubwama Eric Michael, founder and CEO of KUNTA, and Nantongo Irene Catherine, a distinguished engineer, celebrated their union in a breathtaking fairytale ceremony at Ireland’s historic Dromoland Castle on July 28, 2025.

This wasn’t just a lavish celebration—it was the symbolic merging of two remarkable individuals whose shared vision and accomplishments span continents. The exclusive, invitation-only affair brought together close friends and family from around the world, with guests flying in from Uganda, Germany, the UK, Sweden, and beyond. The week-long event offered attendees curated tours of Ireland’s iconic landmarks, including Hollywood film locations like the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren.

So grand was the celebration that it caught the attention of Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTÉ, which covered the story and will air a special feature on the couple’s journey.

While the cost of the event was certainly extravagant—rooms at Dromoland Castle command upwards of UGX 21 million per night, with individual meals priced around UGX 1.12 million—it’s modest in comparison to the scale of the couple’s combined achievements.

Eric, an entrepreneurial powerhouse, leads both KUNTA Productions and Zoran Construction, companies that have made significant marks in the entertainment and construction sectors. KUNTA, one of East Africa’s premier production houses and marketing agencies, operates in four countries and is currently expanding into Ireland. It has produced a wide array of prominent television shows, including projects for Netflix, and serves an impressive list of global clients: Coca-Cola, MTN, the United Nations, European Union, Unilever, Multichoice, the Swedish Government, the Government of Uganda, and the World Bank, among others.

Zoran Construction, on the other hand, showcases its engineering excellence with projects that include contracts from the American government and EY (Ernst & Young). With over 537 professionals under Eric’s leadership, the scope and scale of his ventures are a testament to visionary leadership and execution.

Irene brings her own formidable credentials to the table. A Ugandan-born engineer with three degrees in Energy and Chemical Engineering, she now works in Dublin at ESB, Ireland’s National Electricity Generation and Trading Company, as an engineer and innovation specialist. Her expertise and experience add a complementary strength to the couple’s dynamic partnership, reinforcing their reputation as a force of influence and innovation.

Together, their reach is both continental and global, with their primary residence now in Ireland—a symbolic midpoint of their shared ambitions.

Adding to their impressive portfolio is the upcoming launch of NYOTA BIGI, a Tanzania-based talent search show modeled after the Got Talent franchise. Developed in partnership
