Mukono’s famous traditional healer, Hajj Habib Ssezinga aka Nsikonnene, shocked the nation again on August 10 by marrying his eighth wife, Alice Namugerwa, in a grand Muslim Nikkah ceremony in Buikwe District.
The 37-year-old polygamist, who already has seven wives and seven kids, traveled over 60km from his home in Namasengere village to Ngogwe sub-county with a loud convoy of boda bodas and cars. Crowds lined the roads cheering, chanting, “Nsikonnene, you’re a real man”
Despite being robbed of over Shs60 million recently, Nsikonnene splashed more than Shs50 million on gifts for his new bride’s family, including a motorcycle and furniture.
His seven wives proudly escorted the new bride, calling her their “Sister,” as all eight now live under one roof. The bride’s father urged her to love her co-wives and husband.
The bride’s father, Hassan Kkonde, advised Alice to embrace her new family, telling her to love her co-wives and husband, reminding her that divorce was not an option.
