The 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup semi-final lineup is complete following a weekend of intense second-leg quarter-final drama. Kyaggwe, Ssingo, Buweekula and Bugerere have all secured their spots, showcasing the tournament’s fierce competitive spirit over the games played on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend’s action delivered high tension, especially in the tight contest between Ssingo and Mawokota. After a goalless first leg, a crucial own-goal at the Mityana Ssaza Ground, pressured by Ssingo’s Mike Kasule, was enough to see Ssingo advance 1-0 on aggregate, eliminating three-time champions Mawokota.

Meanwhile, last year’s runners-up, Kyaggwe, secured their passage with a 3-1 aggregate win over Ssese, following a 1-1 draw in the return leg. Bugerere edged out Buluuli 3-2 on aggregate after a hard-fought 1-1 away draw, and Buweekula also squeezed through against Busujju, winning 2-1 on aggregate after their second leg ended 1-1.

Reflecting on the quarterfinals action at the Mityana Ssaza Grounds, where two-time champions Ssingo celebrated their victory over Mawokota, Herbert Ndugga, Pilsner King Representative praised the spectacle saying,

“The passion on display not only here today but throughout this whole tournament has been truly magnificent. As Pilsner King, we are excited to keep celebrating with these incredible players and fans all the way to the final.”

The stage is now set for the semifinal showdown, with the first legs scheduled for 12th October as Bugerere take on Ssingo, while Buweekula face Kyaggwe. The return legs follow on 18th October 2025, with all roads leading to the grand coronation at Hamz Stadium on 1st November 2025.

Four counties now remain as the quest for Masaza Cup glory marches on. Let the King’s game continue.
