KCB Bank Uganda has announced the renewal of its successful title sponsorship for the illustrious KCB-Nkumba Volleyball Club, affirming its unwavering commitment to the growth of sports in Uganda. The announcement, which took place at the KCB Bank Head Office, confirms a sponsorship package of UGX 100 Million for the new season.
This renewed partnership extends the long-standing relationship between KCB Bank Uganda and the seven-time National League Champions, an association that first began in 2019 and has since seen the team achieve significant local and regional victories, including multiple NSSF KAVC International and Genocide Cup International titles. The financial support is purposed to help the team meet operational costs, logistical elements, and welfare support.
While speaking at the ceremony, Edgar Byamah, the Managing Director at KCB Bank Uganda, mentioned the bank’s dedication to nurturing local talent and fostering national pride.
“This UGX 100 Million renewal is a reaffirmation of the values we share with the KCB-Nkumba team in regards to resilience and the relentless pursuit of excellence,” said Byamah. “Our partnership with this exceptional team is an example of our commitment to supporting and elevating the youth and Ugandan sports on the national stage. We look forward to another victorious season with the club.”
Godwin Ssenyondo, the Manager KCB-Nkumba Volleyball Club, expressed his gratitude for the continued support, highlighting its critical role in the team’s consistent performance. “The unwavering support from KCB Bank has been the backbone of our success for the last 6 years. The UGX 100 million package is a massive boost that secures our operations, allows us to focus purely on training, and ensures the welfare of our players. It enables us to attract and retain top talent, preparing us to compete fiercely in regional championships,” he said.
Adding to the sentiments, Dinah Akello, the captain KCB-Nkumba volley team, spoke on behalf of the team, “As players, this sponsorship is a huge morale booster, knowing that a strong partner like KCB Bank is invested in our future motivates us to give our absolute best on the court.
