Dax Vibez has stirred up heated conversation in the music scene after openly admitting that he “steals every song” he releases.

Speaking in a recent interview with Galaxy FM’s Evening Rush crew, the Taabu hitmaker addressed the growing wave of song theft accusations rocking the local music industry and his candid remarks have left fans both shocked and intrigued.
“I steal every song that you hear coming from me,” Dax confessed. “I steal people’s ideas and put my own touch on them because the music we do has never been done before.”
While many artists are quick to defend themselves against plagiarism claims, Dax took a surprisingly different stance, embracing the idea of creative theft as part of his artistic process.
He clarified, however, that his approach isn’t about copying lyrics or melodies word-for-word, but rather drawing inspiration from others and transforming it into something new and personal.

“I listen to different artists, pick something, and put my art on it,” he explained. “Then my fans praise me for being creative but I always borrow a leaf from another artist.”
According to Dax, this process of reimagining borrowed ideas is what gives his music its unique edge and emotional depth.
“The thing about me is that when I get inspiration from you, you won’t know, because I personalize the song,” he added confidently.
While his statement has drawn criticism from some quarters, with a few accusing him of normalizing theft, others see it as an honest reflection of how art evolves: through influence, reinterpretation, and reinvention.
