Two Police officers in the Kamengo sub-county Mpigi district have been arrested for firing live bullets at a suspect after a heated argument.
Lydia Tumushabe, the Katonga region police spokesperson identifies the officers as SPC Herman Kinobe and PC Eliya Luwalira .
The duo this morning stormed the residence of an assault suspect identified as Paul Mukasa at Ndodo Village, Kamengo sub to effect an arrest.
It is alleged that the two officers upon reaching Mukasa’s residence found His family members armed with sticks and stones ready to attack the officers.
Mukasa, reportedly pulled out a hand hoe to cut them, prompting SPC Kinobe to shoot him dead.
The officers also fired live bullets in the air to disperse the irate crowd in vain
The duo is currently in police custody at Kamengo police station on murder charges.
