A heartless man in Mukono district has badly chopped his enemy to death over land disputes.
Hassan Kiwanuka is accused of ending the life of a 20-year old Matia Gimmony on June 30, 2020 while at Nagoje County in Mukono district.
It all started when Kiwanuka reportedly attacked Gimmony accusing him of using his plot of land that was stolen from him.
The two had a heated debate that ended in a bad physical fight after Kiwanuka claimed the deceased’s father greedily took over his land and started using it.
In the process of fighting Kiwanuka reportedly used a sharp knife to hack Gimmony severely in various parts of the body injuring him.
The Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Area Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire says residents who witnessed the fight attempted to rescue Gimmony by rushing him to the Kawolo hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.
Owoyesigyire says the death of Gimmony angered residents who sought revenge by storming to the Kiwanuka’s residence to lynch him but instead concluded with demolishing the house as the suspect had fled into hiding.
Owoyesigyire says the suspect was on Tuesday morning found by police and has been locked up at the Nagama Police station on the Murder charge.
Owoyesigyire says he will be produced in court for justice to prevail.
