Loud- mouthed Former Makerere University researcher and 3 students of Makerere University have been netted and arrested following a foiled protest to petition the speaker of parliament over Tegu’s death.
Emmanuel Tegu a 3rd-year veterinary student a Makerere university was clobbered on the 27th of June by a mob and later died in hospital on the 3rd of July.
Police released a comprehensive report on Friday indicating that the deceased died as a result of a blunt force trauma due to open wounds along the back, multiple cane marks on the back of the right elbow, and abrasions along the abdomen and the entire back.
4 people including Charles Oyugu, Balam Nyeko Balam , an SGA security guard, and Moses Sekitoleko all residents of Makerere were charged with the murder of Tegu.
CCTV footage from st Augustine Chapel -Makerere showing moments leading to his death was also released on Friday.
According to Nyanzi and the team claim, Tegu was unjustifiably killed by Men in uniform and they are seeking justice for him.
It took a group of Police officers both male and female to grab and arrest a resistant Nyanzi, who kept throwing her legs aimlessly while splashing her private body parts
They were intercepted while marching to Parliament to present a petition demanding the justice of their deceased counterpart Emmanuel Tegu.
They Started marching from Parliamentary avenue, walking up to Parliament’s main gate where police arrested them at CPS Kampala.
The team that couldn’t be calmed down by police officers held pick placards written on Justice for Tegu while yelling Freedom of speech is a constitutional right and continuously claiming Tegu was killed by Men in Uniform killed Tegu.
After a while of accusations and shouting at police officers who tried to calm the otherwise loud-mouthed Nyanzi , the police were compelled to arrest the team.
