There are two famous types of BaSummer in Uganda: those that come back home to spend cash during holidays, and those that make songs from diaspora for the market to enjoy.
The former includes Zari and her late husband Ivan Semwanga, Bad Black, Cheune, Mike Ezra, Brian White and others; and the latter includes Zari(YES!), Da Twinz aka Ganda Boys, SK Simeone(He Sang Round Of Applause, We Doper, Matokeo and other hits).
One big name on the musicians’ list that hasn’t been appreciated much back here is Athen Lyre. The South African based vocalist has done quite well for some time now, and has landed a collabo with American rapper Black Rapp.
All we can say is we cannot wait for the song to be released. We shall definitely share it with you.
