FDC political giant Dr. Kizza Besigye has sounded an alarm to the government and international aid agencies on behalf of Ugandan girls suffering in the cold hands of Arabs abroad.
Besigye posted an emotional heart-wrenching message on his social media on the plight of the girls and why they need rescuing.
“Their country of origin, Uganda, doesn’t seem to be paying any attention. Ugandan and international NGOs should take up the matter and do the needful to save these very desperate people,” Besigye wrote.
He says majority of these girls who traveled to do odd jobs in Saudi Arabia have been pleading with the Ugandan government to save them for months now to no avail.
“There are various desperate groups of Ugandan women that have been crying out for help from different locations in Saudi Arabia for several months now. They’re all a part of the women being exported to do odd jobs,” Besigye said.
He also adds that these girls have resorted to drinking toilet water to quench their thirst and hunger since they have been denied access to food and water.
Besigye says they have now become prisoners and are now locked up in a store for some days.
He now wants the Saudi Arabia authorities to engage in the process of freeing these girls from captivity.
