The Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga has honored the late Pastor Augustine as an achiever and hardworking man that the young generation should learn from.
While paying tribute to the deceased at his church in Christian Revival church, Kawaala, Mayega praised the church under the leadership of Yiga for contributing to the construction of the Kasubi tombs for Buganda under the Ettoffali fundraising drive-in 2014.
Mayiga said Pastor Yiga started small from a humble family but progressed greatly into a successful entrepreneur owning schools,a Tv station, and the church among others.
He says Yiga managed to achieve great things in his life because of self-belief,an attitude he asked for all young people to emulate.
Mayiga says that Pastor Yiga started as a humble man, but his spirit of self-belief led him to achieve a lot of things in a short period, which should be an example to the young generation.
The Katikiro condemned the insults hovering around from a fellow pastor Jackson Senyonga describing Yiga as a quack pastor who went around faking miracles while impregnating and spreading HIV to many women.
He advised Pentecostal pastors to borrow a leaf from the orthodox and catholic faithful who preach and practice peace.
“I always see the Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga of Catholics visiting Namirembe, the same with Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu why isn’t it possible in Pentecostal Churches, Mayiga asked.
Yiga will be laid to rest on Sunday this week on his church land in Kawaala,5 days after he was pronounced dead as he had willed.
He is survived by eight legally known children, although rumors circulating indicate that he sired 45 children who are scattered accross Kampala.
