Democratic Party (DP) President Norbert Mao has been duly nominated today after the Electoral Commission reportedly cleared him.
The EC had verified and cleared Mao for nomination today and gave him the leeway to stand in 2021.
Clad in a rich green and white Mao and his entourage donned on the party’s colors as they religiously made their way to Kyambogo nomination grounds.
Mao was accompanied by his wife, the DP secretary General Siranda, DP spokesperson okelor among others.
He presented all his particulars and was duly announced a candidate by the EC chief Justice Byabakama.
Speaking shortly after his nominations Mao said Uganda’s economy is in confusion as a result of poor policymaking.
‘’Our economy is in disarray, Uganda’s economy is like a fruit which is in your compound that’s where the roots are, the nutrients that feed your tree are from your compound but the fruits fall outside we are enriching other people, most of these economy problems are a result of shortsightedness in policymaking’’.Mao said
