A huge chunk of land at Queen Elizabeth National Park with a Marijuana farm has left many wondering if the narcotic drug is slowly becoming an undercover cash crop in Uganda.
This comes after Police on Friday unearthed the money-spinning 200-acre Marijuana farm Uganda’s top Tourism destination.
Police Commanders and intelligence services ISO detectives from Katwe and Bwera divisions uncovered the illicit mouth-watering activity.
The Cops say the acted on intelligence information, DPC of Katwe Tyson Rutambika says his desk received multiple complaints of how the narcotic is being sold rapidly on the market and instigating crime.
‘’This is an intelligence-led operation, we have been having several complaints from our neighboring districts that there is a lot of banji coming from this side and incidents of criminal gangs.so I liaised with my colleagues including the intelligence fraternity. ‘’DPC of Katwe Tyson Rutambika says
It was discovered that locals from nearby villages were manning the farm although it’s not exactly clear if they were working on behalf of high-profile persons.
The cops netted 7 locals; some were found working at the farm while others were picked from Rwembyo village, in Kisinga Sub-county.
