Forum For Democratic Change-FDC’s defiant presidential candidate Patrick Amurat Oboi has again been granted bail at the Mpigi Grade 1 Magistrates court after spending a cold sleepless night behind bars at the Mpigi central police post.

He was granted a non-cash bail of 5million shillings while his 2 sureties each got bonded 10 million , non-cash after he denied the charges read against him in court.

This follows a dramatic arrest on Sunday evening after a rebellious POA was busted by cops campaigning while seating on top of his ride in Mpigi town.

He was mugged onto a police pickup truck and driven to Mpigi Central Police Station.

Prior to his dramatic arrest, police blocked the road leading to Mpigi Town but Amuriat’s driver drove through the bushes before getting out of a barricade checkpoint, amidst cheers from his supporters.

Amuriat dissed the cops for handling him brutally by punching him in the stomach severally while arresting him.

”This was unbecoming of that particular police officer called Twesigye, who punched me in the stomach and inflicted an injury on me, I need the services of a professional doctor to establish my state of health. It is very strange that an officer at the rank of ASP would do such a nasty thing,’‘ Amuriat said shortly before entering court.

Amuriat also says his arrest was a ploy instigated by the current regime to threaten a rather growing steadfast opposition.

”This didn’t take me by surprise. I know this is politically motivated, instigated by the pressures Mr.Museveni is facing and is bound to continue facing beyond the 14th if he risks rigging our elections ,” he said
