Musamali Lifts MYDA.
The first round of the Startimes Uganda Premier League officially ended with the last pair of games in Matchday15 played at Njeru. The exciting double header provided a shock result when league rookies MYDA FC stunned Kyetume Fc to earn their maiden win in the top flight and subsequently lift themselves a step above the bottom of the table.
The Flying Eagles’ heroes were goalkeeper and captain Isaac Osikol who had a Man Of The Match performance plus, of course, the goal scorer Musamali Paulo whose 70th minute strike was the match winner against the slaughterers. The former KCCA FC and Buildcon (Zambia) utility player beat Cranes keeper Joel Mutakubwa to seal a win that takes the Malaba boys to six points, one above new bottom place occupants Kitara FC.
The pride of Bunyoro who a few days ago squeezed a win over Wakiso Giants Fc lost 1-2 away to Busoga United in the day’s other game. They started like they could repeat their mojo when Oloro Nathan gave them a 4th minute lead after being set up by Edson Agondeze but Shaka Ssozi had other ideas.

Musamali Lifts MYDA.
The tricky forward equalized in the 25th minute before finding the winner in the 51st minute – completing his brace in the process – for the hosts’ 3rd straight win. The 1st was off a Franco Onen cross while the second was set up by U-20 sensation Isma Mugulusi although Ssozi had to 1st round the keeper Opio Emmanuel before finding the net.
The Jinja SS side climbs out of the relegation zone with 14 points, two ahead of Kyetume who subsequently sink into the monster’s jaws after 15 matches.
The Startimes Uganda Premier League will take a short break until March 31st when Round Two kicks off. Meanwhile, the Uganda Cranes will begin preparations to play their AFCON qualifier against Burkina Faso on March 24th at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende.+2
