On Sunday, the Blue Queens Band held their debut mini-concert and they gave the best of their performance in celebration of mothers across the world.
As a norm for the global Mother’s Day, celebrations were the order of the day as people across the world applauded the impact of mothers on society.
At Tavern Woods, Kabuusu the Blue Queens Band staged their first concert dubbed ‘Love You Maama’ for the mothers.
The show – which was streamed online – kicked off with a poem in which the role of mothers (and females in general) in society was echoed.
The Blue Queens Band then set the ground rolling with a Saxophone session of the popular song “Mother how are you today”
All equipment, instruments, and singing was done by the all-girls band. At no moment was a member of the other sex spotted on stage.
Clad in black tops and golden skirts, the band also performed a cover of Rema Namakula’s “Ba Nyabo” followed by other songs including “Woman” by Juliana, “Sweet Mother”, and many others.
The Blue Queens Band is signed to CRK Planet, an established record label in Uganda. This was their first concert and they left an impression.
