Frustrated Woman Commits Suicide
A 53 yr old woman in Kazo has reportedly ended her life by drowning in a dam. Her lifeless body was discovered in a dam on Thursday afternoon.
Police are treating her death as a suicide although investigations have commenced establishing circumstances surrounding her demise.
Kemanzi Annet, was a resident of Bushara village, Nshunga parish in Nkungu Sub-County.
Kemanzi reportedly fell into the Dam on Wednesday night after unsuccessfully forcing her son John Turyasingura,19, to follow her.
Police say Turyasingura recorded a statement saying his mother took him to the dam and convinced him to kill himself before she dived in.

He says Kemanzi told him the only way to cure typhoid he was suffering from was to end his life but he only went into the dam for a brief moment and got out.
Robert Kateeba Chairperson LC 1 Bushara village says he went to collect milk from the deceased’s residence only to find the son Turyasingura very wet and muddy.
Kazo district Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations Department Frank Arinaitwe says they have Turyasingura to help police understand what led to the suicide.
He says as police they want to understand if it was suicide or Kemanzi was killed and dumped in the dam.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kazo Health Centre IV for autopsy.
