Fisher Woman PM Robinah Nabbanja has used her iron hand to discard several items sent to Kasese flood victims by unidentified persons on behalf of the government.

Nabbanja was on Tuesday airlifted to Kasese at the district headquarters in Rukoki to meet with local leaders and technocrats to assess the impact of floods on locals after River Nyamwamba burst its banks.
30 villages were affected by the floods with many left homeless in addition to crops being destroyed and roads cut off as a result.

This prompted the local authorities to shift over 1,000 internally displaced persons to the Muhokya Transit camp.
Affected locals were soon furnished with food and non-food items including;1,000 mosquito nets 1,000 blankets, posho, beans among other items.

However, Nabbanja has refused to accept a section of the items on behalf of the displaced needy locals and has ordered for their return to the people that purchased them.
The PM says the blankets are extremely light and cannot serve the intended purpose while the nets are too small.
”The relief items are substandard, therefore, I have directed that let the nets and the blankets because they are substandard, other items are okay we can use them we are going to seat with the ministers(environment, Disaster Preparedness) and assess the situation. she asserted.

She also questioned the quality of beans that had been given to the flood victims, saying that they were equally not good for human consumption.
She ordered that those responsible for procurement of the substandard items be held liable, and organize another assortment by the close of business on Wednesday for delivery.
Eng. Hillary Onek, the Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees Minister says they will follow the PM’s directive and ensure that the victims receive additional support.
However, he declined to explain how substandard items were purchased for the victims.
