Police in Kabale has netted a vicious man for slaughtering his wife to death and later attempting to end his life .
Wilber Sigyirenda reportedly used a sharp Machete to cut his wife Phiona Asiimwe several times on the neck in their bed on Sunday night.
Locals claim Sigyirenda had gone months without enjoying his wife’s things and suspected she was being unfaithful.
The couple has recently reunited recently after breaking up for two months because of domestic conflicts.
On that fateful night, Sigyirenda silently attacked his wife at their residence in Kacerere Ward in Ryakarimira Town Council before proceeding to chop his Son from another woman, badly injuring him on the head.
Neighbours heard the screams and immediately intervened, only to find Sigyirenda had swallowed poison.
They captured Sigyirenda and rushed him to Ryakarimira Police Post before police transferred him to Rubaya Health Centre IV.
