Qualification to Africa T20
With the dust yet to settle on Uganda’s U-19 Boys team successful qualification campaign to the world cup in West Indies next year, it is time for the senior men’s team to get their campaign to the 2022 World Cup scheduled for October and November 2022 started.
The Baby Cricket Cranes are still the talk of town and rightfully so, but focus must shift to the Cricket Cranes, who bowl off their long but realisable voyage in Kigali at two ovals; the Integrated Polytechnic Regional Center (IPRC) in Kicukiro and Gahanga stadium.
The ultimate goal for coach Laurence Mahatlane’s troops is to grab one of the 15 spots from the right to step onto the Airbus to Australia. It will be decided through a four-step qualifying process.\
Captain Muhumuza said; “We know what is at stake. We will try to control what we can control. No Team is weak and we will not try to get ahead of ourselves. The guys want to perform well and keep the positive vibes of Ugandan sport going on especially after our juniors qualified for the World Cup”
A total of 86 different teams all start with the dream alive on the global scale. At the regional level there will be 67 Associate Members taking part, including Uganda.
