The National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has today paid a courtesy visit to Kigo Prison where legislators Hon. Mohammed Ssengiriya and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana are remanded.

Kyagulanyi arrived at 11:55am accompanied by three Prado vehicles and upon reaching, encountered no restrictions since there was little deployment at the prison.

Dressed in blue jeans and a floral Kitengi, the musician cum politician majestically entered into the prison premises in the company of compatriots Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi and NUP General Secretary Lewis Rubongoya.

The visit took nearly two hours while the media kept vigilance at the prison quarter guard. When the trio eventually emerged from the prison at 2:00pm, Kyagulanyi addressed the media.

In his narrative, Kyagulanyi described the situation as terrifying since Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana were badly beaten.

“He is in pain. He has a wound on his foot, and actually even the second foot is also getting affected. The doctors here in prison have been attending to him, but he believes that he needs advanced treatment,” Kyagulanyi said.

Ssegirinya’s wife, Twahira Akankunda, also got a chance to speak and in a quivering voice said how much she misses her husband.
