Police in Lusanja, Kasangati Town Council in Wakiso district are hunting for a viscous woman who burnt her husband with hot water on suspicion he was having an extramarital affair .
Maurine Onziru is currently on the run while her husband Steven Okello, a saloon operator is nursing injuries at a local clinic in Wakiso.
The incident happened on Tuesday at 8:00 pm, when Okello arrived home at a time Onziru thought was late and unusual. Onziru immediately started questioning her husband of two years why he came in late and in the process a heated argument ensued between the couple.
Neighbours who heard the quarrel claim Okello insisted he was from the saloon working but was delayed by a customer who came in late but Onziru refused to believe his word claiming he was with another woman. They allege that Onziru in a rage of anger stormed out to the kitchen and returned with a saucepan of boiling water she used to pour on her husband.
Okello sounded an alarm attracting neighbours who found his skin peeling from the right side of the body from the head moving downwards . By the time they entered the house Onziru had found a way to escape leaving him for the dead.
Locals allege that Onziru was frustrated by the husband who had failed to satisfy her sexual needs and suspected he was doing it with other women. She had reportedly vowed to either chop off or destroy his manhood.
Fred Ssepuuya, the Defense Secretary of Lusanja LCI says that there is an increase in domestic violence in his area emanating from little or no sexual satisfaction between couples. He says they receive more than seven cases of domestic violence among couples every week.
“I usually advise locals that if you are week in bedroom matters ,try so hard to ensure you properly provide for your household .These are the most common reasons for domestic violence in my area.’’he said
Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan says that the police are hunting for Onziru as investigations continue.
