Police in Kampala are investigating a police officer for shooting dead his lover under unclear circumstances. The suspect is Corporal Sam Owuku, a driver of the Kampala South Regional Police Commander-RPC Rogers Sseguya.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, says Owuku will be charged with murder and attempted murder once investigations are complete. Owoyesigyire Owuku attacked his lover of five years identified as Nabukenya Sarah ,a teacher in Buddo Preparatory with a gun around 10 pm on Monday night ,shooting her multiple times until she died .
A furious Owuku also proceeded to shoot at one Mark Busuulwa on the right arm as he attempted to intervene. Busuulwa reported the incident to the nearby police in Kyengera before being rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
Owoyesigyire says that police recovered 13 rounds of ammunition at the crime scene, which will help them in their investigations.
