Mulago National referral hospital has confirmed it has admitted 27 persons at the casuality wing following the Tuesday morning blasts in Kampala.17 police officers are currently admitted in the casualty ward.

At about 10 13 am two separate blasts happened at Central Police Station-CPS and Kooki Towers along Buganda Road and at IPS building along  Parliament avenue in the Kampala Central Business District.

Among police cops injured include one Katongole, a driver of former KMP traffic commander Norman Musinga, One Constable Sebunya, and others only identified as Kanyanya, Kavera, Balingira, Osman, Okot, and Ojira.

The officers attached to CPS have sustained both minor and major injuries to head,chest ,limbs , arms and stomachs among others.

According to Dr Rosemary Byanyima the deputy executive director at the hospital ,27 victims have been admitted,including ,seven women and twenty men. Byanyima says seven patients are critically injured and in need of resuscitation.

The hospital has called in all available staff to help with the emergency as the Ministry of Health and Mulago Hospital ambulances continue to admit injured victims .

Patients that were admitted to the casualty ward have been transferred to other wards to create space for the bomb victims.
