Twin suicide bomb blasts
A Uganda police report has confirmed that six people ,including three suicide bombers perished from two viscous explosions at Kampala City Center on Tuesday morning. 33 others sustained injuries.
Two loud blasts were heard minutes apart at IPS building on Parliamentary Avenue and Kooki Towers opposite Central Police Station(CPS).
Fred Enanga the Police spokesperson,told the media this afternoon that 33 people are nursing injuries sustained from both bomb blasts .He also confirmed that only five remain in a critical state.
According to Enanga both incidents were planned and executed by suicide bombers attached to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
“We are seeing a lot of bodies shattered broken legs and skulls have been scattered.So right now we are counting the number at three suicide attackers,for the injured we confirmed 33 people ,those we rushed with injuries were 17 ,and these were the ones within the point of impact and the front desk at CPS meanwhile ,five are critical. At Parliamentary Avenue there is an extra body of a Civilian,”he said

Enanga further says that CCTV footage shows how the suicide bombers carried out the deadly attacks within a period of three minutes apart.
“The blasts occurred at 10:03 and 10 :06 am ,the first attack happened ,Our CCTV footage clearly revealed how a male adult dressed in black jacket and carrying a backpack detonated himself and died instantly .The spill over effect from the bomb covered about a radius of 30 metres from the check point to the front desk office at the police station.Two other people died from that deadly blast.Another blast occurred at the Jubliee Insurance building and two suicide bombers captured on two motorcycles died , bomb experts are still documenting to come up with the exact number of victims .”
He has asked the public to be extra vigilant saying suicide bombing is a threat that requires collective effort both from police and the public.
“These attacks come 22 days after the swift bus attack,the nature of the bombs and attacks is their latest strategy and our intelligence established that these are domestic terror groups attached to the ADF .These suicide jackets are built from home made items like nails ,ball bearings ,batteries,phones ,ammonium nitrogen and these are things found in the market,retail shops and supermarkets,we need to be very vigilant.”he said
