Bomb blast victim dies
The Police Lead Pathologist and Director of Health Services in the Police Force, Dr. Moses Byaruhanga, says one bomb blast victim has succumbed to injuries in yesterday’s twin bomb blasts in Kampala.
This brings the number of the dead to seven following two bomb explosions that went off at Jubilee Insurance building on Parliamentary Avenue and at Kooki towers opposite Central Police Station along Buganda road .
“One person died from the Mulago hospital and the body has been taken to the hospital Mortuary but teams are still at the scenes and most likely more work will come from there.we cannot say that this is a conclusive report,it is bound to change going upwards.”
Byaruhanga says they have concluded the embalming of four deceased victims from the six who died yesterday.He says four pathologists conducted the treating exercise and they are yet to receive the remains of the other bodies.
“We handled four bodies of adult males and body parts suspected to be of a male,we have finished treating the bodies and will keep them in the fridge as we wait for relatives to come and pick them.”he said

The police pathologist says one body was of a suspected suicide bomber that was picked from Katooke in Nansana, another from Parliament, while two from the Central Police Station Kampala.
“Among the two from CPS ,one of them is for a police officer,all the bodies in our custody have been identified but we shall not reveal the names as of now.
Dr. Byaruhanga says they are yet to receive the remains of two other bodies.
Relatives to the deceased have been allowed access to the Kampala Capital City Authority Mortuary where the bodies are.
“Yesterday people came here looking for the bodies of their people but we told them to come back today. We have embalmed all the bodies and are going to keep them in refrigerators until they are claimed,” he said.
Dr Byaruhanga says reports from Mulago National Referral Hospital show that 35 injured victims were admitted at Mulago,8 female and 27 males.21are going to be discharged today. 1 male dead names not disclosed while 13 are still under critical condition at ICU.
