Suicide bombers not Muslims
Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has distanced the recent terrorism activities under the muslim rebel group Allied Democratic Forces(ADF) from Islam or its doctrines .
In a statement released today by the Mufti he says the perpetrators of terrorism acts might carry Muslim names but are not followers of the religion.
He notes that Islam is decent religion that doesn’t encourage killing ,revenge or terrorism acts.He said believers attain Janna (paradise) by saving life not by destroying it.

“Although the perpetrators carry Arabic and Muslim names, UMSC disassociates Muslim and Islam in general from such heinous acts,UMSC joins the nation to mourn the deceased and commiserate with the families of the victims of this heinous act. ”said Mubaje
The Mufti advised Muslims youth to resist the temptation of joining the rebel forces he describes as barbaric and instead enroll for government programs to alleviate poverty.

His statements follow the death of three Muslim sucide bombers responsible for detonating two bombs at the Kampala City Center injuring over 30 people and killing four others.

During a security briefing on Tuesday afternoon at the Police headquarters in Naguru,Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said the ADF is behind all the recent terrorist attacks in Uganda.
“These attacks come 22 days after the swift bus attack, the nature of the bombs and attacks is their latest strategy and our intelligence established that these are domestic terror groups attached to the ADF .These suicide jackets are built from home made items like nails ,ball bearings ,batteries, phones ,ammonium nitrogen and these are things found in the market, retail shops and supermarkets,we need to be very vigilant.”he said
President Museveni in a twitter statement blamed ADF rebels for the blast saying a total of 81 suspects have been arrested.
“All these are part of the ADF group that attacked Gen. Katumba in June. these terrorists, exposed themselves at a time when our security (anti-crime) infrastructure has improved, compared to what it was in 2018 when I made the speech to Parliament. Seven have been killed while resisting arrest, Eighty one have been arrested and 3 have been killed by the bombs they were carrying.”he said
Museveni said“Apart from hunting the terrorists, the country’s strategy of vigilance (alertness), is helping to minimize damage, therefore, the public should maintain vigilance of checking people at entry points to bus parks, hotels, churches, mosques, markets,”
The ADF joined forces with ISIS in 2019,pledging allegiance to the rebel group.
