State Minister for Economic Planning in the Office of the President Peter Ogwang, has defended a request for 402 billion shillings funding for President Yoweri Museveni’s activities in the next financial year 2022/2023.

The Office of the President presented the request in a ministerial statement presented to the Presidential Affairs Committee of Parliament on Tuesday.

According to the budget, 39.3 billion has been allocated toward repairs and maintainace of his Entebbe State House ,Nakasero State Lodge and the 23 other upcountry State Lodges, procurement of 14 new vehicles for the presidential convoy, maintenance of the presidential jet and helicopter.

Other monies will go towars; 13.4 billion for the procurement of security equipment, 109.7 billion for the mobilization in poverty alleviation and 231.3 billion for formal pledge requests.

However no provision of funds was made to facilitate any foreign trip for the president and vice president.
