Enanga says the upon inspection of the premises, it was discovered that the school was running at a risk with congested dormitories,no fire alarms and no clear exit rooms. He further explains that the girl’s dormitory that caught fire had triple metallic Decker beds placed close to one another with clothes and suitcases on small corridors.
“the 53 pupils were sleeping on triple metalic deckers which were quite squeezed and there was another tiny room inside where the matron and four other children were sleeping. That is where the fire started from, trapping the four children inside who suffocated and burned beyond recognition. The girls dormitory had two exit rooms while the boy’s dormitory had one, which is not safe.” He says
