Police in Rukiga District is holding one of their own for releasing a female suspect from police custody while on duty to satisfy his sexual desires.
Police Constable PC, Muhumuza Venerato,56, attached to Kashambya Police station was arrested alongside his lover identified as Kyatuheire Caroline ,28, after the couple was captured in a live romping session. Kyatuheire a resident of Nyarubisi cell, Kashambya Sub County was previously arrested on the suspicion of robbing one million shillings and a mobile phone, she was awaiting to be produced in court.
PC Venerato reportedly sneaked the suspect out of the police cell in the night to the residence where the couple engaged in the game of adults.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police mouthpiece says Venerato took advantage of the situation, to lure the victim to his place for his illicit satisfaction.
Maate says Venerato was captured after the in-charge CID one D/C Ampeire Asaph arrived at the police station only to find both the suspect and officer on duty missing.
He says Ampeire immediately connected the dots and dispatched a team of police officers to trace the couple ,he adds that they were found and rearrested.
“The in-charge CID one Ampeire who thought the suspect had escaped from lawful custody, only to realize that the was in the house of the suspect. He notified Cps Rukiga and a team lead by the district Cid officer responded and found both the victim and the suspect locked in the house,” he said
