Kawempe North Mp Hon Ssegrinya Muhammad’s mother put up another scene at Parliament on Tuesday morning when she stormed the legislative chambers for a second time demanding justice for her son .
Justine Nakajumba was escorted by Ssegirinya’s wife Twahira Akandinda as the duo walked to Parliament’s gate asking for the release of MP Ssegirinya who has been on remand since September 2021 on murder and terrorism charges.

Nakajumba approached the gates of Parliament yelling uncontrollably and she was escorted inside Parliament by a group of friendly female police officers who tried to calm her down. She was asked to sit at the gate while her matter is being handled.
“Last time I came with a letter requesting to see the Speaker but didn’t see him. I do not sleep well, I want my son to be released, I beg of you,President Museveni , Janet Museveni please help me ” she stated
Nakajumba was later forwarded to the offices of the Director for Communications at Parliament Chris Obore where she was assured that Prliament cannot meddle in criminal affairs.
Obore cautioned Nakajumba to stay away from people misleading her that Parliament has the power and mandate to influence the release of her detained son from jail. He however assured her that Parliament will do its best to advocate for a speedy trial.
Previously, Nakajumba petitioned the Speaker of Parliament on November 30,staging a peaceful protest along parliamentary avenue demanding to meet the Speaker Jacob Oulanya over the MP’s ailing health.
She was however blocked from entering Parliament.

Nakajumba has also petitioned the Uganda Human rights Commission (UHRC) over human rights violations meted on Hon Ssegirinya Muhammed the Kawempe North MP .
Local leaders and concerned residents in Kawempe Division including the mother to the ailing incarcerated legislator, on December 09 marched to the UHRC complaining over the refusal to release the ailing Mp despite his deteriorating health condition.
Two legislators, Hon Ssegirinya and Hon Allan Ssewanyana MP Makindye West are accused of charges related to murder, attempted murder aiding and abetting terrorism committed during the spate of murders that rocked the Greater Masaka region last year.
