The Resident City Commissioner -RCC Kampala Hudu Hussein has shifted the responsibility to the managers of arcades and shops, and building owners of ensuring vendors and hawkers off the streets.
It is almost a month since vendors and hawkers were sent off the streets of Kampala by the police, army and Kampala Capital City Authority -KCCA enforcement team following Hudu Hussein’s directive of ensuring Kampala is safe and clean.

Addressing the journalists at the Uganda Media Center in Kampala today, Hussein says that this is done after discovering that some arcade and shop managers are conniving with vendors to resume their operations on streets near those specified buildings.

He however warns that those arcade and shop managers and also building owners who will allow vendors to trade on the verrandors, those buildings will be closed and traders responsible suspended.
Meanwhile, Hudu Hussein has noted that one of the city businessman Haruna Ssegawa of Haruna Towers has offered over 300 stalls in two of his markets located at Mengo-Kisenyi and near Kisekka market where all vendors and hawkers who were evicted off the streets to occupy those places for free for six months
