A drunken father survived being flogged thoroughly by locals after causing an accident and injuring his two children.
A staggering Ben Nuwagaba, a Boda boda rider and resident of Kamwokya church zone threw the minors off his motorcycle after it collided with another along Mawanda road, Kawempe Division in Kampala.
Eye witnesses allege that the drunken man was travelling home with both kids from Lower Nsoba primary school when he tried to overtake one Jimmy Ajaruva who was also riding towards Kamwokya along Mawanda road around 6 pm Tuesday.
In the process, the motorcycles collided causing the children to land to the ground, sustaining injuries. One of the minors sustained a broken right leg while her sibling escaped with bruises. The children were taken to a nearby Kitante Medical center for treatment.
Ajaruva also sustained injuries and blacked out for some time before being taken to hospital. Eyewitnesses say Nuwagaba was unstable at the time of the accident and lost control.
Angry locals threatened to hit Nuwagaba , thinking he is a reckless boda boda rider, they also grabbed the children from him but, he put up a protest .
