Opposition big wig attached to the Forum For Democratic Change party Dr Kizza Besigye will spend Tuesday night in the cold cells of the Central Police Station on charges of inciting violence.
This follows his second arrest at downtown Kampala, after he beat security to protest high commodity prices. Besigye stormed the City center with an armored a Land cruiser and megaphones asking the public to join in his campaign against high commodity prices.

The leader of pressure group People’s Front for Transition who recently launched another campaign dubbed “State of crisis in Uganda” shortly after his bail from Luzira Prison criticized the National Budget reading, saying it only serves the President.
He stated to gathering crowds cheering him that the budget reading for the 2022/2023 financial year does not hold any water because the monies will be misused.
“The new (financial) year is here, we should not fund Museveni,” Besigye said.

Besigye was soon attacked by Police officers and UPDF military soldiers who arrived at the elated scene, blocking his protest. He was immediately ordered to move back into his car, before being towed away.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokes person says Besigye is currently detained at (CPS) on charges on inciting violence. He says Besigye’s protest disrupted businesses and brought traffic to a standstill in the Central Business District.

Onyango however says his file has been forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions(DPP) for further action.
Besigye was last week granted a 3 million shillings cash bail from Luzira Maximum prison. He was jailed following another protest at Arua Park where he was addressing crowds over hiked prices.
He was consequently taken to the Central Police Station in Kampala and later transferred to Nagalama Police Station where he spent a night before being jailed.
