A police constable attached to Masindi central police station has ended his own life by hanging.
The deceased has been identified as Mugenyi Kandoole Number 54802. His lifeless body was found dangling on a tree near Masindi central police station.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident to URN saying they are investigating the circumstances under which the officer committed suicide. He committed suicide by hanging out using his shirt.
According to Hakiza, Kandole’s lifeless body was sighted by other officers at Masindi CPS.
They immediately rushed and picked the body that was later conveyed to Masindi general hospital mortuary where it is currently lying pending postmortem.
Patrick Ayesiga, an eyewitness and a resident of the central division in Masindi municipality says on Thursday the deceased officer was seen in Masindi town in good health but he was shocked to find his lifeless body dangling in a tree.
Ronald Businge, the Mayor Masindi Municipality says, it is unfortunate that the officer has mysteriously ended his life.
