Security Guard netted

Police at Kagadi Central Police station are holding a ruthless private security guard on suspicion of killing his colleague in a heated argument.

Charles Ogwoko,27,  attached to Security group Africa-SGA fired live bullets at his colleague and suspected lover on Sunday at 2:30 PM, after the couple disagreed over certain matters.

The deceased is Barbra Kiiza,28, working with the same security firm and resident of Kiryaba Bugambe Sub county in Kikuube district.

Eye witnesses allege that the couple, guarding Stanbic bank–Kagadi branch for a while now, have been sharing intimate moments in public until they started a fight on Sunday. They allege that moments before the shooting, Kiiza was seen rejecting attention from her assailant as the couple argued over something.

The deceased reportedly pushed Ogwoko away from her, and tried to move to an opposite direction, which annoyed her alleged lover, prompting him to shoot her dead.

Other unconfirmed reports indicate that Ogwoko accused his colleague of reporting late at work.

However, Kagadi District Police Commander, Moses Muzima Kiconco says police are yet to ascertain circumstances surrounding the shooting.

He says that police officers from Kagadi central police station responded to the gunshots and intercepted the suspect before he fled the scene.

“The fact that there have been only two people, Ogwoko doesn’t explain whether a third party came and attacked them, but he was found armed with a company rifle and the catridge recovered at the scene, is from the same weapon, so I believe he will tell us more.” Muziima says

The deceased’s body is lying at the Kagadi general hospital mortuary pending a postmortem.
