A report has put the number of deaths as a result of hunger in Nabilatuk Town Council at 226.

Recently, Members of Parliament from that region told the media that about 900 people had so far died.

However, it has emerged that in Nabilatuk TC alone, 226 in five villages died as a result of hunger.

According to a report compiled by the Town Council Clerk, John Longolio, 41 people died in Naupala Ward, 61 in Central Ward, 78 in Arengesiep, 31 in Lolet and 15 in Natopojo, putting the total deaths in the Town Council at 226.

He appealed to the Chief Administrative Officer to “lobby for any support from donors to avert the starvation of the community.”
