The first live action on ESPN arrives on the evening of Friday 26th August, as Sporting Charleroi take on Club Brugge in a Belgian First Division A clash (20:40 LIVE on ESPN). The European football continues on the evening of Saturday 27th August with an Eredivisie clash between Feyenoord and FC Emmen (19:50 LIVE on ESPN).
Major League Soccer (MLS) takes centre stage from Saturday night with Minnesota United v Houston Dynamo (21:45 LIVE on ESPN), followed by three further games through the course of Sunday 28 August, with FC Cincinnati v Columbus Crew (01:35 LIVE on ESPN), Vancouver Whitecaps hosting Nashville SC (04:05 LIVE on ESPN) and DC United visiting Atlanta United (22:05 LIVE on ESPN).
Further MLS action follows early on the morning of Monday 29th August, as Los Angeles Galaxy take the long trip to face New England Revolution at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts (02:05 LIVE on ESPN).
Former Italian youth international Giacomo Vrioni has been a key acquisition for Revolution, with the 23-year-old explaining why he chose the MLS and New England in particular: “I had a lot of teams [try to sign me] at the end of the season, but I had a call with the coach [Bruce Arena] and a call with a lot of people here and I feel comfortable,” he explained.
“I saw that they believe a lot in me, and this for the player is very important, and this is why I said directly yes to come here because I saw that the coach believes a lot in me and also all of the team, all of the staff.”
Every weekday evening from Monday 29th August to Thursday 1st September brings fans of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Football League (NFL) all the news and views they can handle from ‘NBA Today’ (21:00 LIVE on ESPN) and ‘NFL Live’ (22:00 LIVE on ESPN).

The first live action on ESPN 2 arrives on the morning of Friday 26th August, as the Houston Texans take on the San Francisco 49ers for a National Football League (NFL) Preseason clash (02:15 LIVE on ESPN 2).
The morning and evening of Saturday 27th August is dedicated to live Major League Baseball (MLB) action, with the St Louis Cardinals taking on the Atlanta Braves (02:00 LIVE on ESPN 2) and the Tampa Bay Rays testing their skill against the Boston Red Sox (22:00 LIVE on ESPN 2).
Cleveland Guardians manager Terry Francona recently praised the Rays’ Kevin Cash for his work at the helm of the Florida team: “For me, [it means] I’m getting old and for Cash, I don’t know, I didn’t think he was that good to begin with,” he joked. Everybody who knows us knows how much I think of him,” Francona said.
“I know I’m biased — and I don’t apologise for it — but I think he’s really good and he has proven that out. I do know last year at the All-Star Game, watching him talk to the team, I sat back there and I was like, ‘Damn, man.’ As you do stuff, you get more confident, just like as a player.”
The afternoon of Sunday 28th August features action from the Belgian First Division A, as KAA Gent host Royal Antwerp (13:25 LIVE on ESPN 2), before more MLB action in the evening, with Miami Marlins v Los Angeles Dodgers (18:00 LIVE on ESPN 2) and Oakland Athletics v New York Yankees (22:00 LIVE on ESPN 2).
More MLB action arrives in midweek, with Wednesday 31st August featuring the New York Mets against the Dodgers (01:00 LIVE on ESPN 2) and the Texas Rangers battling state rivals the Houston Astros (20:00 LIVE on ESPN 2).
