Woman hacks three children to death
Police in Hoima District are looking into circumstances under which a mother of three, chopped and killed all her children using a sharp machete (panga).
The deceased, Praise Ahumuza, 5, Faith Wemigisha, 3, and Peace Tumukugise, 11 months, died on their way to Hoima Referral Hospital.
It is alleged that Agaba killed her children at her parent’s residence in Kiziga LC1, Kinogonzi Parish, Buhimba Subcounty, Kikuube district. She had travelled there on 20th August 2022, to treat a mental illness.
Agaba hacked all three children on 25th August from a room belonging to her brother Kasangati Omuhereza.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson said Agaba was arrested at Hoima Police Station on murder charges. He added that police recovered a blood stained panga from the scene, which is exhibited as a weapon used in the crime.
Enanga narrated that upon interrogation, Agaba confessed to the crime, giving a very clear account of how she murdered her three children.
He further stated that a medical examination conducted on the suspect found her to be fully conscious, oriented and with abnormal behaviour. He says she is pending a further psychiatric forensic report.
