The operation was conducted by enforcement officers on Wednesday night October 05,2022 in the areas of Bunga, Kabalagala, Kansanga and Muyenga. The suspects were netted while walking without the required documentation.

Among those arrested are 116 Eritreans, 62 Somalis, 5 Ethiopians, 1 Chinese, 1 Canadian and 1 Irish. The suspects are mostly the youth between the ages of 20 to 30 years.

He says the they will be charged with illegal stay contrary to Section 59 Part IV of the Citizenship and Immigration Control Act Cap 66.
The clause sub section (1) states that; A person who is not a Citizen of Uganda shall not, unless that person is in possession of a valid entry permit, Certificate of permanent residence or special pass issued under the act be employed in public service, parastatal or private body, by a private person or engage in a private business in Uganda.
