Milan aiming for revenge

AC Milan will be looking to bounce back from last week’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea when the two sides go head-to-head at the San Siro.

Second-place Chelsea and third-place Milan are locked on four points in Champions League Group E, having both recorded one win, one draw and one loss.

With first-place RB Salzburg on five points and fourth-place Dinamo Zagreb on three points, Group E is finely poised as we head into Matchday four of six.

Let’s start by looking at the hosts, Milan, who come into this clash on the back of a 2-0 victory over Juventus on Saturday.

That means the defending Serie A champions have won six of their nine league games this term. As a result, they find themselves fourth – three points behind first-place Napoli.

That said, Milan are enduring an indifferent Champions League campaign. After drawing with Salzburg (1-1), they beat Dinamo (3-1) before losing to Chelsea.

It is worth noting that Milan managed just one shot on target at Stamford Bridge. With home advantage on their side, they should create more chances.

On the flip side, Chelsea head into tonight’s clash on the back of a 3-0 win against Wolves meaning they have won four of their past five Premier League games.

Consequently, they find themselves fourth in the Premier League table with a game in hand over Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.

Milan aiming for revenge

The Blues suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Dinamo on Matchday 1 of the Champions League before being held to a 1-1 draw by Salzburg on Matchday 2.

Thanks to last week’s win over Milan, however, Chelsea have only lost two of their previous 11 Champions League games.

Head-to-head: Following Chelsea’s 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture, Milan have never managed to beat the Blues in the Champions League.
