Manchester City thrashed FC Copenhagen 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium, the two sides will meet in the reverse fixture at Copenhagen’s Parken.

Man City find themselves atop Champions League Group G, three points clear of second-place Borussia Dortmund having secured three straight wins.

At the opposite end of the standings, Copenhagen sit rock bottom eight points behind Manchester City after failing to pick up a Champions League win this season.

Copenhagen have only managed to take one point from a possible nine in Group G, registering one draw and two losses.

The Danish side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Dortmund on Matchday 1 before holding Sevilla to a goalless draw. However, they were thrashed by Man City last week.

Copenhagen saw just 24% possession at the Etihad Stadium. Worse still, they failed to register a single shot on target.

It is also worth noting that Copenhagen’s domestic campaign is not going well. Having lost six of their 12 games, they sit eight points behind Superliga leaders Nordsjaelland.

As for Manhester City, they have won all three of their UCL games this term beating Sevilla (4-0) and Dortmund (2-1) before thrashing Copenhagen.

Pep Guardiola’s men were dominant from start to finish against Copenhagen, racking up 76% possession and 30 shots 16 of which were on target.

On Saturday, Man City hammered Southampton 4-0. They remain unbeaten in the Premier League this term, having claimed seven wins and two draws.

Erling Haaland has been the star of the show for City, scoring 20 goals in 13 games across all competitions including five in three UCL outings.

Head-to-head: Copenhagen and Man City have faced each other on three occasions over the years. Unfortunately for the Danes, they have never beaten City.

Team news: Copenhagen have several injury absentees at the moment, including Akinkunmi Amoo, Nicolai Boilesen, Marios Oikonomou and Jose Zeca.

On the flip side, Man City will be without the injured trio of Kyle Walker, John Stones and Kalvin Phillips on Tuesday.
