Ugandan Afro-fusion and the contemporary group – The Janzi Band have been there – conquered and have almost done it all. Just when we thought they will sit on their laurels, they are planning something bigger. They are set to create a conveyor belt to churn out fresh talent for posterity.

The group is set to launch weekly shows in the mold of the interactive “Tusker Malt conversessions”. The shows dubbed “The Janzi Extra Live” will see the stars host different artists from different genres to showcase Uganda’s talent depth.

The band told Bazinnyi that the shows are meant to promote new talents in the industry by allowing new artists to perform with them.

“We plan to host different artists, especially, the new talents, give them an opportunity to work with us, promote and introduce them to the industry,” they said.

The Janzi band is set to unearth new talent in an extra live show that kicks off soon.

“We shall also work with artists from different music genres and introduce them to different audiences,” they added.

The band’s live session is tipped to be interactive, where the audience will have a chance to interact with the band on which songs to play and to hear from them on different topics.

The band said this is aimed at creating development and growth avenues for the music industry which they have been part of for more than a decade, and are hopeful that the audience will love the innovation.

“We hope that the audience shall pick it up and people shall come through to the Janzi studios to enjoy,” the band said.
