Sauda Madada aka Genero, one of the bodyguards of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party President, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, has gone missing.
Madada was last evening rushed to Malcom Medical Centre in Kisasi followng an accident she was involved in at Kyebando roundabout.
According to Police, they are investigating a serious accident that happened last evening. .
The accident involved motor vehicle UBM 436E (Harrier) which was being driven by Madada who was overtaking during the heavy traffic Jam at Kyebando roundabout at about 8:25. The police say she knocked a motorcycle Bajaj Boxer registration number UFQ 517W that was being ridden by Ashraf Isabirye, 25.
According to eyewitnesses, Madada immediately reversed upon seeing a Police vehicle that was on routine patrol and stepped on the rider who was already down.
She gained access to Mulimira road via Passover up to Kamwokya, joining the Old Kira Road to Kisota Road where she was intercepted and tyre shot and deflated, forcing her to stop.
Upon throwing tantrums around, she was taken to Malcom Medical Centre and her vehicle towed to Police.
The Victim was also taken to Mulago hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
“We have also taken note of the social media post alleging that Sauda was shot. This is not true. It should be noted that while pursuing her, we only shot to deflate her tyres because she refused to heed the Police commands of stopping after being involved in an accident,” Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says.
He adds that “We have been notified that she left the medical facility where the Police left her.”
“We appeal to her to report herself to the Police as we investigate the allegations of the accident. Our team will also retrieve the CCTV footage to help guide in the investigation,” Owoyesigyire says.
Meanwhile, the police at Natete have arrested a driver of a Fuso truck who knocked two police officers, killing one instantly and leaving the other severely injured.
The incident happened at about 4am this morning in Bwaise.
The deceased officer has been identified as No 66385 Police Constable Bazibu Sam, a Police officer attached to Kawempe Police station.
It is alleged that while Police Constable Bazibu and his colleague 77149 Police Constable Nabifo Brenda were on Motorcycle Registration Number UP 7866 at Bwaise doing Patrol, a motor vehicle Registration number UAM 809L (Fuso) knocked them and continued ahead.
According to Owoyesigyire, the body of the deceased has been conveyed to the city mortuary Mulago for Post mortem while his colleague Police Constable Brenda is currently receiving treatment at Mulago for injuries sustained.
He says that the motor vehicle UAM 809L was intercepted from Natete and the driver arrested.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are still ongoing, Owoyesigyire said.
