Faridah Nampiima, the Traffic and Road safety Directorate spokesperson says Okabe’s wife Christine succumbed to accident injuries on the way to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. Their driver was pronounced dead shortly after arriving in hospital.

Nampiima attributes the accident to over speeding and reckless driving on the part of the Fuso truck driver who is currently on the run.
