Unbeaten Napoli to resume Serie A title

Italy’s Serie A returns on Wednesday following a seven-week break. The standout tie of Matchday 16 sees table-topping Napoli travel to the San Siro to face Inter Milan.

Napoli remain unbeaten this season, having claimed 13 wins and two draws. As a result, they find themselves eight points clear of second-place AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Inter occupy fifth place in the standings. Although the Nerazzurri sit just two points shy of Milan, they remain 11 points behind high-flying Napoli.

Funnily enough, Inter are the only Serie A team without a draw to their name this season having registered ten wins and five losses.

Only Napoli have picked up more Serie A victories than Inter this term. However, no team in the top eight has suffered more defeats than Simone Inzaghi’s side.

Inter enjoyed a positive run before the World Cup, securing six wins in seven league outings. After thrashing Bologna 6-1, they finished the first phase of the season with a 3-2 victory at Atalanta.

Despite their impressive results before the break, Inter could easily struggle against a seemingly unstoppable Napoli.

Indeed, Napoli have undoubtedly been one of the standout teams in European this season both in Serie A and the Champions League.

Unbeaten Napoli to resume Serie A title

Luciano Spalletti’s men head into Wednesday’s clash on an 11-game winning streak in the league, and they also topped their UCL group with five wins in six outings.

Spalletti’s side have been especially strong on their travels in recent times, losing just two of their past 26 away games in Serie A. Needless to say, that is not good news for Inter.

Head-to-head: Believe it or not, Napoli haven’t beaten Inter since 2020. Since then, the Nerazzurri have claimed three wins and three draws in this fixture.
